Serving the surveillance and security markets, our client is a globally recognized manufacturer of innovative components and radios for wireless data, video, and audio communications. They market their technology, quality, and performance to a multitude of law enforcement, defense, and homeland security applications. Our client has been a leading provider of specialized communication systems for the DoD’s UAV initiatives.

Responsibilities Will Include:

As the DoD Sales Manager you will - as in individual contributor - develop the plan and pursuit strategy for your assigned customers; allowing for delivery of orders in support of the team’s outlined objectives and ensuring the global corporation’s goals are met. Fostering strategic relationships within the targeted defense accounts is an integral factor for success in this position as well as understanding how to satisfy customer requirements and sell our client’s wireless security solutions. Providing feedback and input on product requirements, pricing, and marketing programs as they relate to customer needs will further ensure the company's and your individual success.

With a background of successful sales management experience within the major defense contractors and an understanding of their business development processes your responsibilities will include hunting, developing and closing sales opportunities with in targeted defense customers. While developing leads for program opportunities, individual sales efforts will be focused toward non-programmatic sales.

Requirements:

Required:
o Bachelor’s degree or higher (a technical degree is preferred - a business degree with technical product knowledge will be considered)
o Proven sales success (6 years minimum experience) to the US defense industry and large systems integrators
o Intimate knowledge of DoD organizational structure with current relationships that includes a keen working knowledge of DoD marketplace and the ability to apply this experience to our client’s strategic goals and objectives.
o Working knowledge of the DoD/government procurement process (i.e. buying cycles, key program milestones, procurement methods, contracting and organizational infrastructure)
o Product knowledge of wireless electronics and components.
o US Passport
o US Secret Clearance (or the ability to obtain)


Desirable:
o Ability to travel a minimum of 25%.
o Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
o Ability to work independently, including handling travel & time management
o Entrepreneurial attitude in motivation and sustaining
o Knowledge of program management fundamentals and implementation - relative to the major defense contractors (DAWIA or PMP certification a plus)


Location: commutable -- DC Metro
(no relocation is provided for this position)

Compensation: first year package to 150,000
