Client Description:
Our client, a California Bay Area start-up, has developed a unique RF architecture and is applying it in a new application for a retail market that is ready to accept and implement the product. When delivered, the company’s disruptive technology will provide an evolutionary communication tool for retailers world wide. This niche enterprise wireless developer has reached a critical stage for the next step of its development and is seeking to attract top RF technology leadership to assist in this phase.
Responsibilities Will Include:
As the director of hardware systems development, this person will be responsible for expanding the product lines, RF assemblies, and networking infrastructure equipment. And because of the company’s start-up size will be a hands-on technical leader working on all areas of planning and implementation with the VP of Engineering and the company’s operation leadership team. The hardware systems development director will have the additional challenge of building the small team of existing talent into a larger group who can design and deliver products to production and to the world wide customer base in multiple high volumes.
Requirements:
Key attributes / experience desired:
o planning and developing RF networking infrastructure equipment,
o digital or RF assemblies,
o gaining regulatory approval,
o network equipment knowledge involving embedded processors, memory, FPGA and RF interfaces,
o work with mechanical and power considerations in RF devices,
o broad RF systems perspective.
Technology:
The ideal candidate will have an EE background (MS level preferred, without this level specific experience will be weighed) and have had previous experience in developing new RF technology and putting it into play. Experience in delivering WiFi access point infrastructure products or wireless broadband access point products is desired. Additional experience in selecting and packaging components into small type RF products also is desired. Someone who has faced RF access point challenges in the past and successfully solved the requirements will find this opportunity and company exciting and financially rewarding. The company already has a target schedule for prototype and production and now needs this director to move quickly into the rollout development stage.
